The Miami Heat have likely submitted several intriguing offers for Damian Lillard, but the Portland Trail Blazers have been unimpressed by them.
Lillard wants to play for the Heat and the Heat only, and that has severely hurt his trade value.
No other team in the league seems interested in making an offer for him, and rightfully so, as no one wants to have a disgruntled player wanting to leave.
Even though now it seems like other teams could still look to make a run at the multi-time All-Star, NBA insiders Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson believe Lillard won’t change his stance about his desired destination.
With that in mind, they report that he would once again request to be traded to the Heat if he’s traded to another team (via Dru).
“If Damian Lillard is traded to a team other than Miami, he is expected to ask to be traded to the Heat.” per @flasportsbuzz and @Anthony_Chiang https://t.co/MgMc318Mv8 pic.twitter.com/iiKeL4KgRu

Perhaps this will be the only way Lillard will be able to take his talents to South Beach.
The Blazers’ reluctance to send him to his preferred destination seems personal and out of pettiness and spite.
Even so, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has vowed to keep a close eye on everything that revolves around Lillard’s situation, especially if he’s traded to the Heat, as he doesn’t want players handpicking their trade destinations.
Whatever the case, one thing’s for sure, and it’s that Lillard won’t put his head down or give up on his desire to be traded to the Heat, regardless of if it’s next week, next month, or next season, as he still has four years left in his contract.
