The Minnesota Vikings made a somewhat controversial decision when they cut ties with Dalvin Cook.
Cook had been their star running back for six seasons, posting four 1,000+ rushing yards campaigns.
And while injuries had always been an issue with him, he was nothing short of spectacular in 2022, also logging a 1000+ yard season.
That’s why the guys at Good Morning Football were looking forward to knowing what it was like when the Vikings told him he was going to be released, considering it wasn’t due to his production — or lack thereof — or any character-related issue.
What exactly did the Vikings say to @dalvincook when they released him after 6 seasons???

Cook made it loud and clear that he already saw it coming.
He claims he was looking forward to getting a fresh start somewhere else, as he wasn’t on board with the offensive philosophy they were trying to establish in the Twin Cities.
Cook claims that he wants to have the football and have as many carries as possible, whereas the Vikings were looking to spread the field with the passing game and throwing the ball outside.
Notably, the Vikings are also looking to cut back on expenses.
And while they haven’t fully embraced it as a rebuild, that’s pretty much the road they’re paving right now.
They lost so many relevant players and stars in the offseason that it’s hard to envision them as a playoff-caliber team for the time being, even if the NFC North is a bit of a question mark right now.
