The Dallas Cowboys decided to part ways with former head coach Mike McCarthy earlier this week after the team finished the season 7-10.
Pro Bowl kicker Brandon Aubrey is one of the team’s star players over the last few seasons.
Aubrey recently spoke about McCarthy’s confidence in him, which helped him become a good kicker.
‘I loved playing for Mike McCarthy. He’s been incredible for me…When you have him sending you out for those long bombs with all the confidence in the world, that builds your confidence…I wanted him back,” Aubrey said Thursday via “Kickin’ It With Dee.”

All NFL players love playing for coaches who have confidence in them to go make plays.
When a coach believes in you as a player, that goes a long way for the confidence of that player.
If it weren’t for McCarthy and special teams coordinator John “Bones” Fassel, Aubrey would not have gotten the chance to become an All-Pro player.
The 2023 NFL scoring leader has made 89.4% of his kicks since entering the league in 2023, with his career-long being 65 yards.
His massive leg is an absolute weapon, and it has the power to keep the team in many future games.
Time will certainly tell who the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys will be, but it feels as if the players in the locker room, like Brandon Aubrey, are looking for a player’s coach similar to what Mike McCarthy was for them.
