After winning the Super Bowl four seasons ago, the Los Angeles Rams did poorly the following year by going 5-12 and missing the playoffs.
They have rebounded since, and in each of the past two seasons, they have won 10 games and reached the postseason thanks to some smart drafting, which has given them a nice combination of young stars and established veterans such as quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
However, Kupp recently revealed the Rams are now trying to trade him.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA,” Kupp wrote on X.

A third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Eastern Washington University, Kupp has played his entire career with Los Angeles.
In that 2021 championship campaign, he had a season for the ages with 145 receptions, 1,947 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns and went on to earn Super Bowl MVP.
He has been injury-prone since then, but this season he did manage to catch 67 passes for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games.
One would wonder about the rationale behind the Rams looking to trade Kupp, but there were some rumors they would do just that earlier in the season when they were struggling and he was out with an ankle injury.
Should things work out and Kupp remains in Los Angeles, it could end up being a dark horse team in the NFC next season as their young players continue to improve.
