The Los Angeles Rams’ season came to a heartbreaking end.
They were close to taking down the Philadelphia Eagles on the final drive of their divisional-round playoff game but fell short, which surely left a bittersweet taste in the locker room.
That’s not only because of the loss, but because it could’ve been the last time some players will wear a Rams uniform.
Matthew Stafford’s future with the team is up in the air, and the same is true for Cooper Kupp.
“Who knows what’s going to happen,” Kupp said, via ESPN. “That’s out of my control. And we will see what it’s going to be. … I don’t have any clarity on what that’s going to look like or anything like that. So yeah, obviously would love to be in L.A., but I don’t know what that’s going to look like.”
Kupp was mentioned in trade rumors when the Rams started the season 1-4.
He finished the regular season with 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 appearances.
He missed four games with an ankle injury and was rested alongside the rest of the starters in the regular-season finale.
However, he lost his status as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver with Puka Nacua’s surge.
Kupp has two years left on his contract, but the Rams could save some money against the salary cap if they cut him.
With the team reportedly fielding calls for him earlier in the season, they might be ready to move on.
Even at 31 years old, and despite serving in a secondary role, multiple NFL teams could be interested in adding a tough and reliable pass-catcher like him.
