The Los Angeles Rams’ season ended in a heartbreaking fashion.
While few people thought they would get this far, Sean McVay’s team closed out the season on a high note.
In fact, they almost beat the Philadelphia Eagles on the road.
Then, Jalen Carter broke lose to sack Matthew Stafford in what may have been his last drive as a Ram.
Following the loss, the veteran quarterback admitted that this may have been the end of the line for him in Los Angeles (via Michael J. Duarte).

Nonetheless, he’s far from done with football.
When asked about his future, the former No. 1 pick admitted that he felt like he could still play for longer.
Truthfully, there’s no reason to believe that’s not the case.
Of course, he’s about to turn 37, but we’ve seen veteran quarterbacks play at a high level despite being well up in age.
Stafford has always been a tough player who plays through all kinds of injuries.
Even so, all the wear and tear he’s endured throughout his career could make some teams shy away from making a run at him.
Still, the arm talent has always been there, and while it took him long enough to find his stride in the playoffs, it’s not like the Detroit Lions were a competitive team when he was there.
If the Rams do choose to move on from Stafford, several teams will most definitely line up to offer him potentially the final contract of his career.
