Despite not having rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson in the lineup due to a concussion, the Indianapolis Colts were able to pull off the upset over the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday and improve their record this season to 2-1.
Richardson hasn’t taken a snap with the Colts since he was taken off of the field in the second quarter of the team’s Week 2 victory over the Houston Texans.
Up next on the schedule for Indianapolis is a home matchup against the 1-2 Los Angeles Rams, and it sounds like the Colts’ rookie quarterback has a shot at returning for this contest, per Ari Meirov.

Indianapolis has announced that both Richardson and center Ryan Kelly will participate in Wednesday’s practice with the team, but they are both still in concussion protocol.
Obviously, the Colts would love to have the rookie back starting under center for them when they take on the Rams this Sunday.
But with two home games against a pair of teams with a combined record of 2-4 up next on their schedule, Indianapolis can likely take their time with Richardson and not feel the need to rush him back out onto the field.
He’s only a rookie, and if the Colts play their cards right, he has the potential to have a long tenure with the franchise, so there is no need to put his career in jeopardy just a few weeks into his first-ever NFL season.
In the time that Richardson has been on the field for Indianapolis this year, he’s completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 279 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, in addition to rushing for 75 yards and three scores on 13 carries.
