During the first two weeks of the 2023 NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts have seen a star emerge in the form of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, with the former Florida Gators star being a dual threat under center.
Of the potential star quarterbacks coming into the NFL this year from the college game, Richardson was the one player with the most question marks, as some felt he was too raw to be successful right out of the gate for the Colts.
That no longer seems to be the case, with Richardson looking like the best of the bunch when compared with fellow rookie quarterbacks Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans’ C.J. Stroud.
Despite a solid start to the season for Richardson, the rookie went down with a concussion last week and now has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens along with center Ryan Kelly, via the Colts’ Twitter account.
Per Coach Steichen, QB Anthony Richardson and C Ryan Kelly have been ruled out for #INDvsBAL.

With Richardson on the mend, the Colts will turn to veteran backup Gardner Minshew to shoulder the load under center against the Ravens.
Although Minshew is a formidable backup, Richardson brings a dynamic that can’t be replaced overnight, as he can drive opposing defenses crazy with his versatility.
In the first two games, Richardson has thrown for 279 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while also rushing for 75 yards and three touchdowns.
The Ravens would’ve been a good test for Richardson as he tries to continue to prove he’s the best rookie quarterback of the 2023 class, but he’ll have to wait until at least Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams to get back on the field.
