After pulling out a surprising win over the Buffalo Bills following the devastating season-ending injury to superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets have struggled to stay consistent, with Zach Wilson and company losing consecutive games to the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.
Over the past two games, it has become painfully apparent that Wilson is not the right man for the job under center in New York while Rodgers recovers from his Achilles injury.
That said, the team should be actively looking for a veteran player who can shoulder the load under center for the rest of the 2023 NFL season, with former San Francisco 49ers star Colin Kaepernick currently lobbying for the job.
Although it seems like a stretch that Kaepernick would get offered the job after being out of the game for so long, the 35-year-old is trying to make his case to be on the practice squad in New York by writing a letter to GM Joe Douglas, via Bleacher Report.

At this point, especially with the lengths that Kaepernick has gone to get another shot in the NFL, there’s no harm in adding him to the practice squad this season, especially with the shaky situation at the quarterback position.
Wilson has thrown for 467 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions thus far, which won’t win many football games.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets at least take a look at Kaepernick by bringing him in for a workout because, at this point, the team could be headed for a long, disappointing season with Wilson leading the way.NEXT: Aaron Rodgers Shares Details About His Rehab Process
