The Denver Broncos were not able to close out the Los Angeles Chargers after being up by double-digits in the second half on “Thursday Night Football.”
However, the Broncos are close to making it back to the playoffs for the first time in a long time as they have a record of 9-6.
A big reason for that has been the play of rookie quarterback Bo Nix.
FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd is very high on what Nix has shown so far.
“I’m watching Bo Nix and I’m thinkin’ this is as good as you’re gonna get as a rookie quarterback. … If I was a Denver fan, I’d feel great about it,” Cowherd said on “The Herd.”

This season, Nix has surpassed all expectations after being selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
He has 27 total touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and has thrown for 3,235 yards through 15 games.
In his past six games, he has 14 touchdown passes while guiding Denver to four victories.
He appears to be the real deal, and the sky could be the limit if he continues to progress under the guidance of head coach Sean Payton.
The Broncos currently hold the last wild-card spot in the AFC with two games remaining.
They have some room to operate as the Colts are the next team behind them at 6-8.
