CJ McCollum of the New Orleans Pelicans created quite a stir last week.
The guard mentioned that his new teammate, Zion Williamson, hadn’t reached out to him since he joined the team.
Even though he is sidelined by a serious injury, people were shocked to hear Williamson hadn’t spoken with McCollum.
But now McCollum says things have changed, which will perhaps ease worries among fans.
As reported on NBA Today: CJ McCollum told ESPN that since his interview over the weekend with the TNT Crew, Zion Williamson reached out and the two have spoken.

According to ESPN, McCollum said that since his interview this weekend, Williamson has reached out and the two have now spoken.
But has the damage been done?
Life Without Williamson
The Pelicans have been surviving without their star player, Williamson.
In fact, they are doing better than expected.
Since injuring his foot in the summer, Williamson hasn’t played a single game with the Pels.
And there has been a lot of speculation that he is unhappy with the team and looking to be traded away.
The news about not communicating with McCollum only made people more certain that he was looking to leave the team.
All of this started before the injury: rumors about Williamson being unhappy with New Orleans have swirled around for years.
In fact, they started just about the time he entered the league.
It sounds like Williamson now reached out to McCollum.
But this doesn’t change the fact that many people think he is officially tuned out from the team and ready to depart.
The press and fans have been particularly harsh about Williamson since the McCollum story broke so many people speculate he only reached out because of the bad response.
Is this just damage control or is Williamson still interested in being a Pelican?
