Fans of the New England Patriots know how strict head coach Bill Belichick is with his players.
While there are plenty of stories about this, a new story is coming out about him.
This story focuses on one player who former NFL quarterback Chris Simms feels landed in the doghouse this past season.
That player would be Mac Jones.

He talks about how sources told him Jones was “calling around,” and asking for “some ideas for the offense.”
The move to undercut Belichick and his coaching staff are a strong enough reason for him to say he landed in the doghouse.
While there’s no news of the Patriots’ head coach confirming this, the case Simms makes is interesting.
His sources tell him about Jones calling down to Alabama, as he was trying to improve his offense.
However, the statement from him on how his sources are “credible,” really put a spotlight on the story.
Stories from former Patriots players on the strictness of Belichick add another layer of belief to the Jones doghouse story.
While Simms doesn’t say when Jones made his calls, it’s clear the move didn’t sit well with Belichick.
However, Jones needed sound advice, which he felt he didn’t get in New England.
Those calls might also be the reason behind O’Brien coming back to the team.
While the move might have hurt him in 2022, it might give him a better 2023.
