After another incredible run in the NFL playoffs, the Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions once again, as Patrick Mahomes and company were able to put it all together and lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy after getting the best of the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Although the Chiefs are the cream of the crop in the NFL again, winning a title always seems to spark new contract negotiations, with star players wanting to get paid what they’re worth while securing their long-term futures.
This time around, star defensive tackle Chris Jones isn’t happy with his current contract and has been in talks with the team to get a new deal, which he definitely deserves for what he’s done for Kansas City.
Jones is a four-time All-Pro and arguably among the elite at the defensive tackle position, which makes him invaluable to the Chiefs, or at least that is what you’d assume.
With the two sides still having yet to see eye-to-eye on a new deal, Jones sent out a cryptic tweet on Tuesday.
KC… I love you

With no context to this tweet, Jones could be hinting at being on the verge of signing a new deal with the Chiefs and is trying to contain his excitement while trying to get the fans fired up.
However, this could also be viewed as a tweet saying goodbye to Chiefs fans, with the two sides unable to agree to a new deal, and as a result, he will be traded elsewhere like Tyreek Hill was around the same time last year.
There’s no way of telling what Jones is trying to say, leaving Kansas City fans anxiously awaiting news from their team with the NFL preseason about to get underway.
