The Kansas City Chiefs have had more than enough time to get ready for the weekend.
But that doesn’t mean they’re going to have an easy matchup when they host the up-and-coming Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Divisional Round.
That’s why Safety Justin Reid doesn’t want the Chiefs’ defense to sleep on its laurels against a team that has shown impressive resiliency throughout the whole campaign.
Reid discussed Doug Pederson‘s ability to establish his offensive philosophy on his teams, how they tend to improve, and how dangerous Trevor Lawrence can be.
He also talked about those trick plays the Jaguars could try and use to surprise them, so he urged his teammates to get off to a strong start and stay focused to help the turnover battle.

Jaguars and Chiefs already squared off once this season, with the Chiefs holding on to a 27-17 win.
Trevor Lawrence completed 29 of 40 passes for 259 yards and two scores with no interceptions in that game, adding four rushes for 26 yards.
Also, it’s worth noting that the Jaguars were a much better team after that game, winning six out of their final seven games to win the AFC South Division and then taking down the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card round.
Doug Pederson’s team knows it’s playing with house money, and they won’t hesitate to take risks to try and pull off yet another epic upset.
So, even though the Chiefs are favored by 9 points ahead of this game, they better don’t sleep on the Jaguars.
