Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs were able to fly somewhat under the radar, with many other teams in the NFL getting attention as squads on the rise and becoming legitimate Super Bowl title contenders.
The shocking trade to send superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins before the 2022 campaign seemed to have shed a lot of doubt on whether the Chiefs could continue to be the team to beat in the AFC.
Ultimately, this worked out in the Chiefs’ favor as a lot of people had written them off before the season had even started, which clearly shouldn’t have been the case with Kansas City going on to win its second Super Bowl title with Patrick Mahomes under center and Andy Reid calling the shots on the sideline.
As the Chiefs inch closer to being a dynasty in the NFL, Justin Reid wants to leave his mark on the team as the leader of the secondary, as he told Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 via Around the NFL.

Heading into the 2023 campaign, the Chiefs will no longer be taken lightly by their opponents, as they’re becoming a real threat to be a dominant force for the rest of Mahomes’ time under center in Kansas City.
That said, the Chiefs defense must be locked in during the upcoming season, especially with so much competition in the AFC with potentially potent offenses like the New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins.
Reid will have his work cut out for him, with every team on the schedule circling their matchup with the Chiefs.
