The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to be one of the most improved teams in the league next season.
Justin Herbert is expected to take another leap forward, and they’ll have a proven winner calling the shots in coach Jim Harbaugh.
They’ve had the potential to be a dominant defensive team for years now, but they couldn’t fulfill it under Brandon Staley.
Now, they might be without one or two of their best defensive players, all but making that task even more complicated.
According to a report by Diana Russini of The Athletic (via Dov Kleiman), the franchise is open to trading several veteran players, and that list includes pass rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa.

The report adds that several teams are keeping tabs on the situation and are interested in trading for them, but they might opt to play the waiting game to see if the Chargers end up releasing them.
Needless to say, this is a bit of a surprise.
Bosa has spent his entire eight-year career with the organization, and while he’s been hampered by injuries over the past couple of years, his production has remained elite.
He’s about to make $15 million in base salary next season and he’s signed through 2025.
Mack is a former Defensive Player of the Year and he’s been with the team since 2022.
He’s coming off logging 17 sacks last season, a career-best despite having turned 32 years old already, and he could become a free agent after the upcoming campaign.
