The Boston Celtics gave Jaylen Brown the largest contract extension in NBA history.
And while some may argue that he didn’t deserve to get that much money, the Celtics organization has always been quite high on him, and not just for his work on the court.
Ever since he made it to the league, Brown has been quite involved with the community, which is one of the reasons why he’s a respected figure within the organization and a fan favorite.
As a matter of fact, the team gave him the Community Champion award, which, according to the franchise, ‘is given to a member of the team who is deeply committed to making a difference in and around Boston.’
Congrats @FCHWPO on receiving this year's Community Champion award 🏆☘️

Brown has always been an advocate for minorities and vowed to continue helping empower people in Boston with the new contract he got.
He wants to bring more employment to the area, especially focusing on minorities.
You may or may not be a fan of him as a player, but his work with the community has been remarkable.
Not many young players get involved in things like that.
Props to Brown for looking to create change from within and make sure his millions go to positive use.NEXT: Celtics HC Reveals His Expectations For Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown
