The NBA Finals will get underway this week with the Dallas Mavericks hitting the road to take on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Thursday, with fireworks expected to take place between these two elite teams, especially with the four star players that will be on display right out of the gate.
The Finals will be a star-studded affair as usual, with this seven-game series featuring the likes of Jayson Tatum, Luka Doncic, Jaylen Brown, and Kyrie Irving, who all are in contention to win NBA Finals MVP before the ball tips for the first time in Game 1 on Thursday.
Obviously, these odds for NBA Finals MVP will frequently change over the course of the series as the two teams try to figure each other out, take advantage of each other’s weaknesses, and superstars start to shine.
Before Game 1 gets underway this week, Tatum is currently sitting atop the odds for Finals MVP (-120) with Doncic right behind him at (+200) followed by Brown (+650) and Irving (+1400), according to ESPN BET.

Although this award almost always goes to the superstar of the winning team, which in this case is either Tatum or Doncic, it sometimes can go to a player who consistently makes clutch plays or proves to be the difference maker, like Andre Iguodala for the Golden State Warriors a few years back.
That said, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that Brown, Irving, or another player like Jrue Holiday are named NBA Finals MVP when it is all said and done.
