Brown was on his way into the final year of his contract and was set to make $28.5 million in the 2023-24 season.
He now has a much longer, much brighter, and much more profitable future in Boston.
He just accomplished a lot in the 2022-23 season, averaging 26.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
During his seven years in the league, he has been named an All-Star twice (including last season) and was selected for the 2022-23 All-NBA team.
He has become a crucial part of the team’s success and works well alongside his backcourt ally, Jayson Tatum.
Brown is signing this deal just a year after some people questioned how much longer he’d be with the Celtics.
There were questions about team chemistry and some reports of the Celtics shopping Brown to other teams during the previous offseason.
Because of that, Brown came onto the court last year ready to put an end to those rumors.
He subsequently had his best season yet.
Although he still has some problem areas to address in his style and the Celtics have been coming up short in the postseason, Brown has become one of the biggest names in the league.
This massive supermax deal will garner him more attention.
With this contact, the Celtics have made it clear that they really value Brown in a historic way.
