The Cleveland Cavaliers are a young team filled with talent and will be looking to make its mark once the 2024-25 NBA season officially tips off.
After falling short in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, the Cavaliers decided to double down on its current roster and re-sign some of its key players.
Cleveland managed to reach extension agreements with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, locking their core into place alongside Darius Garland.
The last remaining piece the team needed to address was Isaac Okoro whom they extended a qualifying offer to at the beginning of the offseason.
Okoro came into the offseason as a restricted free agent and refused to sign the qualifying offer in hopes of landing an extension.
His patience paid off as he reportedly signed a new three-year extension to stay in Cleveland via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“Restricted free agent F Isaac Okoro has agreed on a three-year, $38 million deal to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Michael Tellem, Jeff Schwartz and Marcus Monk of @excelbasketball tell ESPN. Okoro — the fifth overall pick in 2020 — averaged 9.4 points a season ago,” Wojnarowski reported.

This seems like a fair deal for both sides as Okoro still has room to grow as a player and has shown chemistry with the core group of players.
The biggest leap Okoro can make in his game is on the offensive end as he is still considered a liability from the perimeter.
However, his defensive instincts and ability to run the floor make him a useful fifth starter or bench player.
