The debate over who is the best quarterback in the NFL today is evolving with every passing season, even though it’s hard to make a case over reigning Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
One player making a strong case for the distinction as the league’s best leader under center is Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Burrow has only played three seasons in the NFL thus far and is still on his rookie contract with the Bengals, but he’s improved with every passing season, and many believe he’s on the cusp of taking the next step to win it all.
On The Dan Patrick Show, former NFL star Carson Palmer was asked who he believes is currently the best quarterback in the league, and he’d go with Burrow over anyone else at the position.

Palmer is a little biased in a discussion like this, as he played the bulk of his NFL career with the Bengals and has always thought highly of Burrow.
Although Burrow has improved every year since the Bengals drafted him out of LSU in 2020, he still has a way to go before he matches Mahomes, who already has two Super Bowl titles to his credit.
Even though Burrrow has had a lot of success against Mahomes in one-on-one matchups so far, the resumes speak for themselves, but that could quickly change in the years to come if the Bengals quarterback continues to rise and the Chiefs come back down to earth.
