This past offseason, following the agreement on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, Carlos Correa found a new home.
The star shortstop inked a three-year, $105.3 million contract with the Minnesota Twins after seven years with the Houston Astros.
The deal included player opt-out clauses after the first and second years of the deal.
It appears that Correa has decided to opt out of his deal with the Twins, which puts him back on the free agent market this coming offseason.
The 28-year-old hit .291 with 22 home runs, 64 RBI, and posted an OPS of .833.
He’ll join Trea Turner and Dansby Swanson on the list of high-prized free agent shortstops.

Correa Set To Join Stacked Free Agent Class
The 2023 free agent class is going to be stacked with big-name players who are soon to be rich men.
Aaron Judge, Jacob deGrom, Swanson, and Turner are just a few of them.
Correa is soon to be a part of that list.
Could the Astros come calling again to try and bring back their former star shortstop?
Maybe Correa gets a long-term deal with the Twins.
You can also never count out the Los Angeles Dodgers when a big-name free agent is available.
It’s always possible that Turner could end up signing elsewhere, which would leave an opening for Correa.
Maybe even the Atlanta Braves could come calling if they’re unable to keep Swanson.
Correa will certainly have a ton of teams calling around for him.
Since his contract with the Twins was a short-term deal, one might expect that the next contract he signs will be a longer-term deal.
Free agency will begin the day after the World Series reaches its conclusion.
Will Correa return to the Twins, or will he sign elsewhere?
