The Arizona Cardinals started the 2023 NFL Season with a quarterback problem.
Kyler Murray was out due to injury, and the team seemed to be up a creek without a paddle.
Despite not having their franchise QB on the field, the Cardinals have liked what they have seen from Josh Dobbs thus far despite being 1-7.
Murray has been spotted on the practice field as of late, a sign that the team might be gearing up to get him back on the field.
It appears that his return will have to wait another week, as Adam Schefter has recently reported that Dobbs will be the starter in Week 9.
Cardinals’ HC Jonathan Gannon told reporters that QB Josh Dobbs will start next Sunday at Cleveland. Kyler Murray’s return will wait at least another week.

This came directly from head coach Jonathan Gannon in a recent press conference.
Either Murray is not ready to come back yet, or Gannon and his staff want to see if Dobbs can continue his strong play for another week.
With Dobbs under center, the Cardinals hung with the Baltimore Ravens during their Week 8 matchup, losing 31-24.
In this game, Dobbs threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown to his overall game total.
While he wasn’t perfect given his two interceptions, Dobbs has fit in nicely after being traded to the Cardinals.
In Week 9, he’ll get a chance to start against his former team, the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns are struggling with the quarterback position themselves given their current situation with Deshaun Watson.
Will Dobbs and the Cardinals find a way to get a win over his former team this week?
