For years, their play on the court and their record have made it obvious that the Chicago Bulls aren’t a good basketball team.
They have good assets but are a flawed team nonetheless, and they have failed to compete at a high level.
However, Arturas Karnisovas and the front office have refused to hit the drawing board and the reset button and trade their best players away.
That finally could change as we approach the trade deadline, as the Bulls desperately need to recoup some draft assets.
With that in mind, NBA insider Mike Scotto reported that the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns are monitoring Andre Drummond (via Legion Hoops).

Notably, it wasn’t that long ago that Drummond was one of the best rebounders in the game, and while he’s become an offensive non-factor, he can still dominate both ends of the glass.
His ability to establish his position on the offensive glass grants his team plenty of second-chance points, not to mention he can be a serviceable source of depth at the center position, all while being on a team-friendly deal.
The Bulls may need to come to terms with the fact that they’re not going anywhere as currently constructed.
As hard as it may seem, it’s often better to just pull the plug and become bottom-feeders for a couple of years to be able to compete again in the future instead of flirting with .500 basketball year after year.
