The Milwaukee Bucks are attempting to figure out what their roster looks like without Damian Lillard, and they know they need a reliable, full-time point guard.
They have apparently made their choice about who will fill Lillard’s shoes.
Kevin Porter Jr. will be the Bucks’ starting point guard throughout the 2025-26 season.
A lot is riding on this season, so Milwaukee needs Porter to show up and play hard every single night.
BREAKING: Kevin Porter Jr. will be the Milwaukee Bucks’ starting point guard throughout the 2025-26 NBA season! ?
Porter Jr., 25, averaged 11.7 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 3.7 APG, & 1.7 SPG on 50 FG% & 41 3P% in 19.9 MPG in 30 games for Milwaukee last season.

Porter’s career has been all over the place since joining the NBA in 2019-20.
He spent a season with the Cleveland Cavaliers before being sent to the Houston Rockets.
Porter was showing promise in Houston, but his career was derailed by legal issues following an assault and harassment incident involving his girlfriend.
That threw him out of the NBA, but only for a while.
He soon returned to the league and spent some time with the Los Angeles Clippers before being traded to the Bucks last year.
During his 30 games in Milwaukee, Porter averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
He only started in two games, but now Porter will be in the starting five every night.
Porter needs to focus on performing well, and he needs to work on his connection with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Everything will run through Antetokounmpo, and with good reason.
The pressure is on Porter and the rest of the team because if 2025-26 doesn’t go well, Antetokounmpo could be heading for a different franchise next summer.
Anything less than a stellar season will leave fans – and the front office – nervous about the future.
Porter has been trying to work his way back to a prominent role in the NBA, and now he has it.
