Jersey numbers have become a coveted part of NFL life.
Players tend to identify with their jersey numbers, especially if they have worn that number throughout their career.
The NFL has softened its stance on jersey numbers as of late, including their allowance of the No. 0 to be worn.
Greg Auman, an NFC South reporter, has recently announced that the first person to wear No. 0 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is rookie YaYa Diaby.
Bucs rookie OLB YaYa Diaby will be the first Tampa Bay player to wear 0 as his jersey number, as now allowed by the league. https://t.co/qobZhN0fon

Diaby joins veterans such as Calvin Ridley, D’Andre Swift, and Roquan Smith with this new number.
He was a third-round pick in this year’s draft and will look to make an immediate impact on the Buccaneers roster.
Diaby is an outside linebacker and spent his last three seasons at the University of Louisville.
The Buccaneers defense, at one time, was seen as one of the best units in the league.
As they continue to grow and develop, especially after the departure of Tom Brady, the Buccaneers will depend on players like Diaby to contribute in a big way.
Despite the organizational changes, they might have a chance at the NFC South this year, if everything goes their way.
Currently, each team in the NFC South is slated to have a different starting quarterback in 2023 than they did last year.
While the person to win the job in Tampa Bay will have their work cut out for them, this is a favorable time to be a new quarterback.
Can the Buccaneers find a way to win the division, given their new players like Diaby?
