The Cleveland Browns continue to make moves and get better for a potential make-or-break season in Cleveland.
Shortly after stirring the pot by signing Jameis Winston — not Joe Flacco — as their next backup quarterback, they’ve now added more depth to the tight end position.
According to a report by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Browns are expected to sign former Carolina Panthers TE Giovanni Ricci to a one-year contract.
The #Browns are adding TE Giovanni Ricci, as @pfootballchase mentioned earlier today. Former #Panthers undrafted free agent who appeared in 36 games over three seasons in Carolina.
Two 🤌🏼🤌🏼 for this signing, if I may borrow that for a sec, @tommydevito007.

This comes after 2020 fourth-round pick, Harrison Bryant, left Cleveland to sign a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
His departure left an obvious void behind David Njoku.
Ricci will give the Browns a dynamic weapon, given his ability to line up at both tight end and full back, just like he showed in Carolina throughout his three-year tenure there.
A Loveland, Ohio native, he spent most of last season on Injured Reserve (IR) with a shoulder injury, but he made 15 appearances (three starts) in the prior campaign, hauling in eight receptions for 100 yards.
Besides Ricci, the Browns have also reached an agreement to sign veteran CB and special teams player Tony Brown.
The 28-year-old veteran will join the team on a one-year deal after spending the past two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, and he’ll be reunited with special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone.
