In their second offseason with Sean Payton as their head coach, signs seem to be pointing to the Denver Broncos making a number of significant changes during the next few months.
So far this year, the Broncos have already released Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson and veteran safety Justin Simmons as they look to head in a new direction with Payton leading the way.
Despite the fact that more are expecting Denver to make even more changes in the near future, the team reportedly worked out a new deal to keep a player around who was a member of the organization before Payton arrived in 2023.
According to 9News’s Mike Klis on Friday, the Broncos and wide receiver Tim Patrick have agreed to a new one-year contract (via Ari Meirov on Twitter).

Patrick has been with Denver since they signed him to their practice squad in the middle of the 2017 season.
After that, he was able to work his way into a meaningful role in the Broncos’ offense, which resulted in him finishing with at least 50 catches, 730 receiving yards, and five touchdowns in each of the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Unfortunately, Patrick has suffered two significant injuries in each of the last two summers that resulted in him not being able to get on the field for a single snap in 2022 and 2023.
In August of 2022, he tore his ACL, and then last July, he tore his Achilles.
Just an incredible amount of bad luck for the 6-foot-4, 212-pound wide receiver.
Luckily, he’s getting another chance to continue his NFL career, as Denver clearly wants to see if he can still make an impact on their offense.
