One of the most surprising teams in the NBA to start the 2024-25 NBA regular season has been, without a doubt, the Golden State Warriors, who are coming off an offseason in which the team saw Klay Thompson walk in free agency and was unable to make a game-changing move despite multiple attempts to acquire another star player in a trade.
Fortunately for Golden State, the team has gotten off to a hot start, with seven wins in their first eight games while currently on a five-game winning streak, which has them sitting in third place in the Western Conference standings, with only the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns ahead of them.
Although the Warriors are looking much better than expected to start the regular season, Golden State still seems intent on making a blockbuster trade at some point in the near future, which would really change the outlook of the season if they land a superstar.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Warriors are most likely to make a “big trade” heading toward the NBA trade deadline in February via 95.7 The Game.
“They may not want to do anything with this roster because it’s so good, but the Warriors are the biggest candidate in my mind to make a big trade,” Windhorst said.

With the Milwaukee Bucks being arguably the most disappointing team in the league right now, sitting at 1-6 after seven games and losing six straight, Giannis Antetokounmpo and or Damian Lillard might become available on the trade market.
The Warriors have been linked to Antetokounmpo for quite some time, but it would likely have to come down to him asking to be traded and potentially dictating where he wants to go for something to come to fruition.
