The New York Giants made some solid moves on the first day of free agency.
Losing Xavier McKinney and Saquon Barkley was tough, but they were able to revamp their offensive line, all while adding a legitimate star pass rusher with Brian Burns, who’s just 25 years old.
However, they’re still several pieces away from contention, and their quarterback situation isn’t ideal right now.
That’s why former NFL WR Brandon Marshall believes there’s currently ‘nothing exciting’ about the team.
Talking on his I AM ATHLETE podcast, the former New York Jet argued that they know they’re not set at quarterback, especially with Daniel Jones coming off an injury.
“There’s nothing exciting about this franchise and this team right now,” Marshall said.

He doesn’t think they have a face of the franchise or a star player, but he doesn’t think they’re rebuilding either.
Marshall argued that general managers and head coaches usually get two or three years to show that they’re going in the right direction, which is why he doesn’t see Brian Daboll and the front office just trying to be patient and rebuilding.
Instead, he believes they’re trying to figure out how to get better and younger at quarterback, knowing that the clock would reset for them if they find the right guy and he balls out in year one.
The Giants are a slightly better team today than they were a few days ago, and that’s always a good thing.
Still, it’s not like the bar was that high to begin with, and it’s hard to envision them being legitimate contenders with Daniel Jones at the helm.
