Since entering the NBA back in 2012, Bradley Beal has only played for one team: the Washington Wizards.
During this time, the Wizards have had a lot of ups and, frankly, a lot more downs.
They have never become the sort of team fans had wished for, despite Beal putting up an average of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists for his career.
Beal in Washington has always felt like a sure thing but has his time in the nation’s capital come to an end?
Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal has declined his $36.4M option and become a free agent, his agent Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. Beal is eligible to sign a 5-year max to return to Wizards – or sign elsewhere on a 4-year deal.

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Beal has declined his $36.4 million option to become a free agent.
After this move, Beal is now eligible to sign a five-year max contract to return to the Wiz or sign with a different team for a four-year deal.
Is this much ado about nothing or is Beal really heading out the door?
Will He Or Won’t He?
Some Washington fans are panicking right now, thinking that Beal really does want to leave his team and is putting out a signal that he’s ready.
However, other people think that Beal will eventually come back home and re-sign with the Wizards.
He could find another team to call home if he wanted because he’s a talented guard who has proven he can lead a team.
Yet, conventional wisdom suggests Beal isn’t leaving.
Of all the players in the league, Beal seems most in love with the city he plays for.
He has become the face of the Wizards and feels quite comfortable in that position.
Through the thick and thin, Beal has always loved leading his team and it’s easy to see him coming back when the new season starts.
