Early on Wednesday morning, former NBA player Brian Scalabrine broke the Internet with a somewhat peculiar story.
Per the former Boston Celtics forward, 16-year-old star Cooper Flagg had dominated Bradley Beal at his camp.
If that wasn’t enough, Scalabrine’s report stated that Flagg and Beal went at it talking trash on the court, up to the point where Beal started cursing him out and was livid.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the Phoenix Suns shooting guard took to social media to address the news, stating the reports aren’t true at all, according to League Alerts on Twitter.
Notably, Beal didn’t got into details or share his side of the story, but he did take it with a sense of humor.

Flagg is the consensus best player in the class of 2025, and he’s excelled with USA’s youth teams, so it’s not far-fetched to think that he could hold his own versus an NBA player, especially one that hasn’t been known for his defensive prowess over the past couple of seasons.
Then again, Beal is still one of the best and most versatile scorers in the league, not to mention his obvious edge in terms of speed, strength, and preparation.
Even so, this is too little, too late already.
Regardless of what Beal says, this story will be out there until the end of time, so perhaps the only way to set the record straight will be to see them go one-on-one.
That’s what everybody wants to see.
