The Boston Celtics are the 2023-24 NBA champions.
However, even though they won last night, that championship was years in the making.
It all started when they hired Brad Stevens to be their coach, and it continued when Danny Ainge promoted him to be his successor, even though he hadn’t won a title as a coach.
Stevens has done an outstanding job as an executive, and he put together the biggest juggernaut in the game ahead of this season.
And just like everybody who’s passionate and good at his job, Stevens is completely obsessed with basketball.
That’s why, following his team’s win in the NBA Finals, the young executive claimed that he was already thinking about the NBA Draft workout scheduled for the following day (via Keith Smith).

That’s just who Brad Stevens is.
He lives and breathes hoops, and that’s what has made him one of the best young executives in the game already.
The Celtics deserve to have some time off to relax before focusing on the upcoming campaign.
Still, this is a year-round kind of job with little-to-no time to rest, and Stevens knows the rest of the league is hitting the drawing board to try and beat them next season.
