The Boston Celtics received a lot of criticism this season.
Nonetheless, not even the biggest Celtics critic can deny the fact that they’ve done absolutely everything the right way to get to this point.
The ownership has empowered the front office to make decisions and put this roster together, and, more importantly, they’ve been quite patient with their young stars and the coaching staff.
That’s why Jrue Holiday was so happy for Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
He believes this should take a massive burden off their shoulders, knowing that they were often doubted and criticized despite being so young and two of the best players in the game (via NBA).

Holiday claimed that it was nice to see them get over the hump because of the fact that they’ve never competed with each other and have actually tried to uplift one another.
For years, some thought the Celtics would be better off trading Brown and using him to get different pieces around Tatum, citing that they were too similar.
Others thought they were chokers because of how often the team fell short in the NBA playoffs.
At the end of the day, they’re just 27 and 26 years old, and at times, the weight put on their shoulders was just realistic, even for the Celtics’ standards.
