Despite a roster full of NBA talents, the Canadian national team couldn’t get past Serbia’s tough side.
The Serbians took the game by storm from the go, and they’ll now fight with Germany for the gold medal.
Following their big win, Atlanta Hawks star Bogdan Bogdanovic wanted to praise his teammate, Aleksa Abramovic.
He claimed that Abramovic had done thorough research on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s game, watching a lot of tape and his highlights, and even promising that he would get a steal on him (via FIBA Basketball World Cup).

Notably, Abramovic stripped the Oklahoma City Thunder star twice, and his defense was instrumental in disrupting the flow of their offense.
To make this championship run even more impressive, Serbia has reached the final despite not having reigning NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic on the court.
Jokic uncommitted from the tournament to heal and restore his body after a long NBA season, yet the team has been dominant and sound on both ends of the floor.
They’ll face a tough German team that didn’t find much trouble getting past Team USA.
This should be a strong message and a big wake-up call for North American teams.
It takes more than just stacking talent together and hoping they’ll figure things out on the go.
Every other nation has long-withstanding projects with guys who’ve played together for years, and it clearly shows.
America no longer dominates this global game, and they’ll have to bring their A-game in every game to prevent these things from happening.
