The Golden State Warriors will move on from the Bob Myers era and take the next step in their history.
Myers did a lot for the organization, including signing Kevin Durant to help them win back-to-back championships in three trips to the NBA Finals.
And even though things didn’t seem to end well between KD and the organization, Myers recently revealed that Durant actually called him upon hearing the news of his departure from the team, per Anthony Slater.

Notably, the Warriors rapidly went from being one of the most beloved and likable teams in the league to the ultimate villains as soon as they signed Durant.
Durant’s legacy also took a massive hit, at least in the eyes of the fans, for joining a 73-win team to win his first NBA championship, especially considering the fact that he has failed to even reach the NBA Finals again since he left the team.
That’s why their careers will forever be tangled up.
How would people feel about Durant if he had never left the Oklahoma City Thunder, or if he had never joined the biggest powerhouse in the Western Conference?
And would Myers’ tenure in charge of the Warriors organization have been as successful if he hadn’t convinced Durant to join forces with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr?
Whatever the case, and regardless how you may feel about any of this, both of their names will forever be a part of the history of the winningest organization of the decade.
