The Buffalo Bills ended the regular season against the New England Patriots in a game that held no playoff implications for them, and they did so without Amari Cooper.
The veteran wide receiver did not make the trip due to personal reasons after appearing on the injury report with a back issue earlier in the week.
With a wild-card playoff game against the Denver Broncos on deck, head coach Sean McDermott provided an update on Cooper’s status.

Though Cooper’s timeline remains uncertain, the Bills are hopeful he will return to play alongside Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman in Buffalo’s receiving corps.
This season has been challenging for Cooper, particularly in terms of production.
After being acquired from the Cleveland Browns in an in-season trade, he has 20 receptions for 297 yards and two touchdowns in eight games with Buffalo.
His total of 547 receiving yards for the 2024 season is the lowest output of his decade-long NFL career.
As the Bills prepare for their playoff journey, Cooper’s potential return could provide a timely boost to their passing attack.
His veteran presence and proven playmaking ability would add another dimension to Buffalo’s offense in its postseason campaign.
