Even though the team has just gone through a season-changing trade and has had a few tough losses too, there are some things to celebrate about the Brooklyn Nets.
The hard work of Nic Claxton and Cam Thomas, for example, should thrill fans right now.
But then there are things to be concerned about and none are bigger than Ben Simmons.
Ben Simmons checks out — likely for the last time tonight with just under 7 minutes left.
He has two points, six assists, four rebounds and four turnovers in 27 minutes. He took just two shots.
He's really struggling still.

Simmons had another miserable night on Tuesday, as his team was defeated by the Phoenix Suns, 116-112.
While checking out toward the end of the game, Simmons looked dejected and deflated.
His stat line wasn’t anything to write home about: Simmons scored 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists during his 27 minutes on the floor.
Throughout the night, he only attempted two shots.
Simmons’ season is not going well and that has become more and more clear over the last few weeks.
He only scored double digits twice in the last few weeks and has only notched more than ten assists three times during that period.
He has also sat out of multiple games due to injury, again.
The Nets are stuck in a tough spot with Simmons.
It is obvious that he isn’t producing anything like he was supposed to when he was signed to the team last season.
His point totals are low, his assist game is weak, and he is playing with lacking energy and drive.
Yet, the Nets are not able to trade Simmons because few teams are willing to take him on.
So, what are they supposed to do?
There are certain members of the Nets who are surging right now and securing a place in the team’s future.
Simmons is definitely not one of them.
