When Dejounte Murray came to the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason, some people weren’t sure how well he would work with the team.
There was a lot of promise but there was also the potential for Murray to not be a great fit alongside Trae Young, Clint Capela, or the rest of the crew.
But it is clear now that Murray is a great addition to the Hawks.

He showed why again on Friday night, as he posted a career-high 41 points in a big win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Murray was all over the court during the match, securing five rebounds, and also going 5-of-5 from the three-point line.
The Atlanta crowd was eating up everything Murray did – and it wasn’t the first time they were very happy with their new star.
Murray has been the brightest spot on the Hawks’ roster this season with his impressive 21.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
He is doing so well, in fact, that some people are wondering if he, not Young, is the future of the team.
For years now, everyone assumed that Young would be leading the Hawks for years to come.
But lately, a rash of rumors have stated that he isn’t too happy with the direction of the team and its lackluster position in the Eastern Conference.
This has led some to speculate that he could depart from the team.
Atlanta recently acquired a new coach, Quin Snyder – will that be enough to keep Young around?
If he does leave the Hawks, Murray seems more than ready to take over the leadership role and make this team his own.
