Unless you have been living under a rock for several months then you know just how bad last season was for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The team was supposed to be in the mix for the Finals but they ended up not even making the play-in game.
Even with the talented roster featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, the team still floundered practically all season long.
Anthony Davis on the Lakers:
“We’re the underdogs.”

The team is well aware that they fell from grace in a huge way and have to perform a big comeback.
For his part, Davis is quite honest about where the team stands in the league, simply saying, “We’re the underdogs.”
He’s not wrong about that, most everyone has counted the Lakers out.
But will this be the sort of story where the underdogs rebound and recover or will they keep sinking lower and lower?
Will The Underdogs Overachieve?
The Lakers are trying to again convince fans that they have what it takes to make the Finals in the upcoming season.
But fans of the team don’t need all of that to be happy again, they just need to see the squad moving in the right direction.
Followers of the team know that LA only has limited time with James, who will likely retire within the next few years.
They want to capitalize on that.
Very few people expect the Lakers to make it all the way to the NBA Finals in the year ahead.
Instead, they are just hoping for a promising playoff run.
The team had so many problems last year and are such major underdogs that a transformation to Finals contenders is unlikely.
