The 2024 NFL Draft is nearly here.
This year’s draft class is one of the most highly-touted in recent history, and if the top players pan out as expected, they could make a monumental impact on the teams that draft them.
Several positions in this year’s class have a significant depth of solid players, including the offensive line.
While drafting an offensive lineman in the first round isn’t necessarily an exciting pick, it can certainly help boost a team’s chances of success for the foreseeable future.
Duke Manyweather recently appeared on the GoJo and Golic show, where he dove deeper into the top offensive lineman in the class.
“There’s not much projection with Joe Alt. You know exactly what you’re going to get [in terms of an] effective offensive tackle in the NFL. And because of that, I think he has the ability to move to the right or left side seamlessly,” Mayweather said.

Alt has been looked at fondly for many years, and as Manyweather indicated, he is a multi-faceted player.
In Manyweather’s eyes, Alt could play on the left or right side, a versatility that isn’t necessarily common in today’s NFL.
Oftentimes, players have significant experience on one side or another, and while they might be asked to play on a different side when they get to the NFL, it doesn’t always turn out well.
If Alt can play all positions on the line, he can provide even more value to the team that drafts him, which is why he’s seen as a candidate to be a top-five pick.
