The Chicago Bears are in possession of the No. 1 pick, and most people expect them to hold onto it and use it to get Caleb Williams.
Needless to say, that makes Justin Fields the odd man out.
With the way the QB landscape is turning out right now, the Bears could be running out of places to send the Ohio State product to.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton claims that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Bears were to hold onto Fields despite still getting Williams.
Talking on The Carton Show, the controversial pundit talked about how little trade value Fields could have, mostly because of the fact that any team trading for him would have just one year to make a decision about his future as a franchise quarterback, given his impending contract extension.
“I would not be surprised if they still draft Caleb Williams No. 1 and hold on to Justin Fields,” Carton said.

The Bears failed Justin Fields.
They didn’t give him any help until last season.
They had one of the worst offensive lines in the game, and they refused to use him to the best of his abilities on offense.
Matt Eberflus had him sitting in the pocket as a pocket passer instead of allowing him to roll out and do some damage with his feet, which is perhaps what he does best.
There are also some durability concerns, but there was a point when Fields looked like the best quarterback in his class, and he’s still young.
Unfortunately, he’s going to be the fall guy for his organization and his coaching staff.
