The Chicago Bears could be ready to move on from Justin Fields.
The former Ohio State standout has struggled mightily in the Windy City, but most of those struggles could be credited to the lack of a supporting cast or offensive scheme that fits his skill set.
On top of that, it seems like there’s not much of a trade market for him right now.
The Pittsburgh Steelers removed themselves from consideration by signing Russell Wilson, and reports state that the Atlanta Falcons are ready to make a run at Kirk Cousins.
That’s why former player-turned-analyst Damien Woody was livid.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he called out the coaches around the league for being unable to make things work with Fields.
“I just think it’s an indictment on the coaches in our league that no one has a plan to try to get this talent,” Woody said.

He believes coaches should be able to maximize a player’s talent and build their system around him, not the other way around.
Fields has shown glimpses of great play, and he could be one of the most impactful dual-threat quarterbacks in the league.
Matt Eberflus has tried to turn him into something he’s never been, and the coaches aren’t held accountable when they fail to make the most of a player’s skills as much as the players are blamed for the team’s struggles.
Fields is still young and has a sky-high upside, and it’s sad to see that no team is willing to take a chance on him so far.
Hopefully, he’ll be able to land on his feet soon and get another opportunity.
