The NFL world was taken aback when Myles Garrett publically announced that he requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns.
Garrett has been among the best defenders in the NFL over the past decade, and he’ll likely draw several bidders, hopefully giving the Browns a lot of options.
Several teams could use a defender of Garrett’s caliber, but in a recent episode of NFL Live, Marcus Spears made his pitch for an up-and-coming NFC team to take a run at him.
“The Washington Commanders should be on the phone right now trying to figure out how to get Myles Garrett to the DC area,” Spears said.

The Commanders were among the most surprising teams in the league this year, making it to the NFC Championship.
While they got blown out in the game before the Super Bowl, the fact that they got to that position in Jayden Daniels’ rookie season was no small feat.
Now, the Commanders are viewed as a team to watch out for heading into the 2025 season, and if they want to truly compete, they’ll have to make some big moves on both sides of the ball.
Adding Garrett would add an instant infusion of veteran talent to their defense, hoping he can impart valuable wisdom on some of the younger players on the team while continuing to dominate on the field.
