Denver Broncos fans weren’t sure what to think when the team took Bo Nix with the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
On one hand, Nix represented something new and exciting at the quarterback position, something the team hadn’t experienced in some time.
On the other, Nix was a polarizing prospect coming into the league.
Even though he had success in college, fans and analysts didn’t know what he was capable of at the NFL level.
Nix worked through some early issues, turning out to be a much better quarterback than people expected and bringing the Broncos to the playoffs.
He played well enough to become a Pro Bowl candidate, the fourth alternate among AFC quarterbacks.
However, as reporter Mike Klis pointed out on X, with Nix scheduled to have surgery to clean up a few minor things, he will not accept the invitation.
Bo Nix, a 4th alternate AFC Pro Bowl QB, was unable to accept invitation to participate in Pro Bowl Games because of previously scheduled, routine and minor postseason cleanup procedure. Nix eager to get procedure done so he can get to work on offseason training. #9sports https://t.co/TlKnxPWsTA

Drake Maye will take his place, another rookie quarterback who had some success with the New England Patriots this season.
Both players had a lot of doubts surrounding them heading into the year, but for the most part, they were able to overcome them and handle adversity well.
Nix is said to be the future of Denver, and if he keeps playing as well as he did in 2024, there’s no reason to believe that he won’t be around for the foreseeable future.
This team hasn’t made a deep postseason run in many years, but with the right players and coaches around him, Nix might be able to get them back on track.
