The NBA offseason is starting to wind down and teams, such as the Philadelphia 76ers, are beginning to make their final moves.
These squads are acquiring new talent, figuring out their rosters, and getting ready for the next run at the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
At this point in the summer, the moves being made aren’t always huge – but they can be incredibly consequential.
Take the 76ers, for example: they recently landed free agent big man Montrezl Harrell, signing him to a two-year deal.
Some people might not see the value in Harrell immediately but it’s definitely there.
Over the last 5 seasons, there have been 2 players to score at least 5,000 points off the bench:

In fact, over the last five seasons, there have been only two players to score at least 5,000 points off the bench.
Those players are Utah Jazz shooter Jordan Clarkson and Harrell.
Additionally, Harrell has been ranked in the top ten in total points off the bench in each of his last five seasons.
This might be a terrific pick for the 76ers.
Harrell Helps
Philly hasn’t made any monumental trades during the summer, instead focusing on more under-the-radar selections.
This is smart because it will save them money and it could still deliver a huge boost during 2022-23.
Although the 76ers have Joel Embiid, they still want more help down in the paint and Harrell could give it to them.
His numbers off the bench are exceptional and could be what puts Philly over the top for many games.
Meanwhile, we don’t know what is going to happen with Clarkson, who is still with the Jazz despite rumors that the team is looking to trade him.
Don’t be shocked if this other bench player makes a move in the upcoming weeks.
