The Arizona Cardinals seem to be headed for a few rebuilding seasons.
The most important part of a rebuild is admitting that you are in one.
It is clear Arizona has already done that by some of the moves they have made in the offseason.
The Cardinals know quarterback Kyler Murray will miss a substantial portion of this season.
So they made sure to accumulate draft picks this offseason to use for next year.
In the 2023 NFL Draft the Cardinals traded from third to 12th and picked up an extra first-round pick in the 2024 draft.
Amongst a few other moves being made, the Cardinals have a plethora of picks to use in next year’s draft.
According to Ari Meirov, the team currently has 12 picks in the 2024 draft.

Having both their own and the Houston Texans’ first-round pick is massive.
Both teams are expected to be amongst the worst in the league.
That could easily end up granting them two top-10 picks.
Arizona might be faced with a tough decision after this season about what they want to do at quarterback.
Many expect their pick could be as high as first overall.
If that is the case they will have to discuss Murray’s long-term future with the team.
He has not lived up to the billing of a first-overall pick in his career.
Yet, he is still young and has plenty of time to figure things out.
But, there may be a quarterback worth taking at the top of the 2024 draft.
If that is the case, Murray could be on his way out the door after this season.
