Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Vikings are officially set to part ways.
It’s hard to say that this was a surprise at all, as the rumors about a potential breakup dated all the way back to last season, and he was tangled up in multiple trade rumors over the past couple of months.
As a matter of fact, a report stated that he was almost traded to the Miami Dolphins in March, and the Florida team is reportedly still considering making a run at him.
However, Darius Butler and Kay Adams believe he’d be a much better fit with the Denver Broncos under HC Sean Payton.

Butler explained how Payton has always built his offense around the running game and how that opened up space for Drew Brees to do his thing.
And even though he believes Russell Wilson will obviously have a big bounce-back year, he still believes adding Cook could help the Broncos offense reach new heights — no pun intended.
Cook wasn’t exactly at his best last season, and there’s no denying that his proneness to get hurt could scare multiple teams away, given how expendable running backs have seemed to become over the past decade or so.
But the Broncos play in one of the toughest divisions in football, so they need to take risks to try and get over the hump, especially after such a disappointing campaign in 2022, and you always have to consider Payton’s team as a potential landing spot whenever a solid RB becomes available.
