For many years, the AFC East was dominated by the New England Patriots.
Under Tom Brady, the Patriots seemed like a lock to win the division every year, giving the other teams in the division a tough chance to establish themselves.
The Buffalo Bills have taken over as the incumbent champions, winning the AFC East for four consecutive seasons.
While the Miami Dolphins have made the playoffs for the past two years, the Bills have ultimately prevailed.
When looking ahead to the 2024 season, Craig Carton made his prediction for the AFC East winner.
He didn’t choose the Bills, Dolphins, or Patriots but went all-in on the New York Jets.
“The AFC East is now owned by the New York Jets,” Carton said.

Carton believes the division is the Jets’ to lose, especially considering what the other teams have done throughout the offseason thus far.
The Bills have made many moves over the past several days, getting rid of several veteran players to free up cap space.
Josh Allen might still be their quarterback, but Carton doesn’t have a lot of faith in them to put everything together.
The same can be said for the Dolphins.
This team has looked great on paper over the past few seasons, but they haven’t found a way to get the job done when it comes to late in the regular season and playoffs.
The Patriots will likely be rolling out a rookie quarterback to start the year, which could come with some growing pains.
To Carton, this paves a path for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets to steamroll through the division.
