The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their second Super Bowl victory in the past four years.
This has been largely attributed to the play of Patrick Mahomes, but he couldn’t have achieved this success without a supporting cast.
Players like Travis Kelce, Creed Humphrey, and Chris Jones were large contributors to this victory.
Jones hasn’t been seen at the team’s minicamp thus far, which has caused initial concern.
If he doesn’t end up playing for the Chiefs this season, some believe that this could be catastrophic.
As James Jones highlighted on the Carton Show, “If Chris Jones is not playing, there is no Super Bowl for the Chiefs.”
"If Chris Jones is not playing, there is no Super Bowl for the Chiefs, I don't care who is at quarterback."

As he indicated, this is regardless of who is playing quarterback for the team.
Jones will be a free agent after the 2023 season.
Despite the Chiefs being one of the league’s best teams, it appears that the monetary element of Jones’ deal is the biggest outstanding piece.
If he’s unable to sign a long-term extension with the team, there’s a chance that Jones could sit out for the season.
As James Jones indicated, Chris Jones is an imperative member of this team.
Regardless of how his contract shakes out, it’s doubtful that the Chiefs will want to move forward without Jones.
Last season, Jones had 15.5 total sacks, which tied a career record.
He also had 44 tackles, a career-high.
Jones’ play isn’t slowing down, and now, the ball is in the Chiefs’ court in terms of how they move forward with a contract.
